The two men, David J. Rivera, age 36, and Carlos O. Calderon, age 39, both of Hartford, were found in New Haven County around 4:10 a.m., Thursday, May 30, on Roosevelt Drive in Oxford.
According to the Connecticut State Police, the fire was extinguished by fire personnel, at which point it was discovered the two dead men were inside.
Shortly after the incident, the medical examiner ruled Rivera had died from a gunshot wound to the head. Earlier this week, the office said Calerdon had died from "homicidal violence of an unknown type."
Connecticut State Police, who are investigating the homicides, said the "now homicide" case is active and ongoing.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the vehicle fire.
